Better Business Bureau Announces 2009 Local Torch Award Winners

Better Business Bureau in Eastern MA, ME, RI and VT announced today the winners of the ninth annual Better Business Bureau Local Torch Award for Excellence.  BBB Torch Award honors remarkable businesses committed to promoting ethical business practices.
 
The four winning businesses for 2009 are:
·    Category 1 (1,000+ employees) – Sun Life Financial of Wellesley Hills, MA
·    Category 2 (100-999 employees) – Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture of Norton, MA
·    Category 3 (11-99 employees) – Adviser Investments of Newton, MA
·    Category 4  (1-10 employees) – Mike’s Landscaping & General Contracting of Malden, MA
 
"These companies were selected by a panel of experts for their exceptional conduct in the marketplace," said Paula Fleming, vice president of communications and marketing for BBB. "Each winning company clearly demonstrates superior character on a daily basis and consistently exceeds marketplace standards for ethics in its relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, industry peers and the communities in which it does business.”
 
The awards will be presented to winners at individual ceremonies.  Winners are entered in the Council of Better Business Bureau’s International Torch Award competition.
